The San Mateo County Pride Center and the Sustainability Department are teaming up to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd with a Home Gardening 101 workshop! Since COVID-19, community members have found peace in creating their own gardens or growing spaces at home. With springtime approaching, many of you may be curious about how to start a garden or how to renew an existing garden space. In this free home gardening workshop, local gardening expert Najiha Al Asmar (along with interpreter Alejandra Warren) will cover tips on starting a garden, and provide guidance around caring for your seeds or young plants in the important springtime months.

Whether your gardening space is a windowsill or a large outdoor space, Najiha will provide advice about some first steps you can take to get your garden started.

**This will be a bilingual workshop, with separate audio feeds for Spanish and English speakers.**

Date: Thursday, April 22, 2021
